Abstract
This is the 30th interview in a series of 37 interviews with General John W. Vessey. In this interview, Gen. John Vessey discusses the period of 1982 to 1985 in which he served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Specifically, Gen. Vessey discusses the bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon in October 1983.
