Abstract
With the implementation of recent legislation more children are being identified as having a developmental delay or disability. Due to this rise in identification more and more children with disabilities are being cared for in community based child care programs. Child care providers must be prepared to appropriately care for all children including those with disabilities. This capstone will provide a foundation of knowledge for early childhood professionals so they are able to provide high quality care for children in their community. Proper training and education in several key areas of child development and guidance are crucial in ensuring children receive quality care.
