Abstract

The main protagonist, Caunor, is a young boy who is celebrating his eleventh birthday with his family at their villa, hidden deep within an ancient forest. Caunor, as well as his elder brother Cormag, are direct descendants of a royal line of rulers from a distant realm known as the Charnel Kingdom. The initiation into princedom is a long and arduous process which Caunor is about to undertake. Seemingly without warning, a regiment of highly trained warriors from their father’s kingdom descend upon the peaceful villa, charged with destroying the residents.
