Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine if certain factors influence heightened or lessened attendance at NCAA Division I Hockey games. Web-based data was taken into consideration as well as the use of televised game broadcasts and in-arena video boards for crowd interactions within the game. This research proposal was developed to see if a specific formula exists that trends toward attendance levels of greater than 50% of a venue’s total capacity versus trends in venues with less than 50% of a venue’s total capacity. The study compares all 62 universities within Division I Hockey and compares their total attendance percentages with numerous variables such as ticketing, team performance, crowd interaction, and ticket pricing.
