Abstract
Because children spend so much of their time in child development facilities, almost as much time as they spend with their parents, teachers play a crucial role in the life of the child, including teaching positive social skills through guidance techniques. This project is significant because the results gathered will provide a foundation for teaching teachers how to guide children's behavior in a positive manner. The researchers hope to confirm that in those classrooms where teachers are knowledgeable of child development and use positive guidance, teachers expend less time and effort redirecting children's behavior.
