Abstract
This project presents a 2-day workshop for educators, parents, and children's service professionals with the focus of supporting healthy identity development of multiracial/multi ethnic children. After careful review of the literature it was found that there is very little information available with this focus for this population. The primary focus of the workshop is to develop strategies to identify the various beliefs viewpoints and assumptions regarding multiracial/multiethnic children and how these attitudes impact their healthy development of identity. The secondary and final goal is to justify the rationale for multicultural early childhood education by examining the role of early experiences and the impact on identity development.
