This project emphasizes the importance of literacy learning in early childhood settings with a focus on Kamehameha Schools- Waimea on the Big Island of Hawaii. It explores the critical link between play-and learning, culminating with a Literacy Enriched Play Centers handbook for teaching assistants, substitute teachers and assistants, interested caregivers, and veteran teachers.
