Abstract
An increasing number of children are coming to Head Start programs and other early childhood classrooms speaking a language at home other than English. Often teachers have not had an opportunity to study best practices for teaching children a second language. Early childhood educators need to know best practices for supporting young children in this learning process. The purpose of this capstone is to develop an in-service training to introduce teachers to supporting second language learners in their classroom.
