Abstract

This ethnographic thesis will explore in a narrative fashion the ways that the social skills of caring and cooperation are evident in schoolagers in a family child care home (Sandy's School Daze) that utilizes "normal activities" and appropriate interaction. The "normal activities" to be observed are the spontaneous things that children like to do when they get "home" from school and in the summer at Sandy's School Daze. The appropriate interactions utilized consist of spontaneous adult/child and child/child interactions that foster caring and cooperation at Sandy's School Daze.
