Abstract
This dissertation examines the necessity and impact of integrating cultural competence training within a Health and Exercise Science curriculum. Based on participant interviews and IAPCC-SV survey data, critical gaps in current educational practices and proposed strategies for curriculum enhancement were identified. The findings suggest that embedding cultural competency training in all courses, through experiential learning opportunities and continuous professional development, would be most effective in raising future healthcare providers’ confidence in providing culturally sensitive care.
