Abstract
The following thesis is a novel in three parts. Peter Gibbons feels trapped. His marriage is disintegrating. His son, Jonah, is cute but demanding. And his job is anything but satisfying. Laura, his wife, is equally unfulfilled as a stay-at-home mother, and struggles with unresolved feelings towards the men in her life. When Peter makes a rash decision, it changes the course of their predictable lives, for better or worse.
