Abstract
This is the 23rd interview in a series of 37 interviews with General John W. Vessey. In this interview, Gen. John Vessey discusses the period of 1982 to 1985 in which he served as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Specifically, Gen. Vessey discusses being a Lutheran Christian in uniform and his interview with President Ronald Reagan to be the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1982.
