Abstract
This research study explores the qualities that make a team effective, specifically within a division of a large medical institution. The researcher combined a literature review of previous research in this area with interviews of senior-level management personnel within the organization that have experience with successful teams. Through these two methods of research, recommendations were made to the organization about how to create effective teams. These recommendations include the formation of teams, leadership, establishment of rules and mission statements and accountability.
