Abstract
Gold Cross Ambulance became part of Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, an affiliate of Mayo Clinic, in 1994. Mayo Medical Transport was formed as a result of the integration of Gold Cross Ambulance, Mayo One and Mayo Medair, air ambulance services. This acquisition and subsequent integration requires Mayo Medical Transports to create singular orientation program for all new team members.
The purpose of this synthesis project is to research, design, and construct an orientation program for new paramedics joining Mayo Medical Transport. This project outlines the general orientation to Mayo Medical Transport which is the initial phase of the orientation process. Subsequent phases of the orientation process are not within the scope of this project.
Learning activities used in this project include: 1) a review of current literature, 2) survey current staff members, 3) site interviews and 4) continuous quality improvement tools.
