Abstract
This is a research paper that documents the process of developing an internal consultant position designed to perform business process improvement (BPI) using a systems approach. The organization that the author will reference for development of this hypothetical position will be International Dairy Queen Corporation (IDQ). The author will develop a job description that attempts to define the role that an internal consultant position would serve. In addition, the author will present information on the fundamental concepts and methodologies of systems analyses that apply to BPI analysis.
This research paper will also include a business process analysis of three key elements of a specific corporate initiative within IDQ. The three BPI analyses that will be completed for this research project will be used to evidence the positive impact that this type of proposed position could have and the valuable benefits BPI analysis can achieve within an organization.
