Abstract
What is essential for smaller nonprofit organizations to plan strategically and maintain organizational effectiveness? Erin Wilson finds through a study of a small, Minnesota nonprofit organization that performance measurement, communication and awareness, and defined roles and responsibilities of board and staff are all essential to supporting a strategic plan tailored for a smaller nonprofit. The study involves individual interviews with nine members of the organization, Agency X. The subjects consisted of five board members and four program staff members.
