Abstract
Creative dance is a valuable addition to the early childhood curriculum, providing children with enhanced motor development, cognitive learning and socio-emotional benefits. Introduction to this art form can provide children with lifelong benefits both physically and aesthetically. Based on this knowledge Christ Lutheran Preschool implemented a Modem Dance program, incorporating principles of developmentally appropriate practice. The Arizona Commission on the Arts and the National Endowment on the Arts provided partial funding for this project.
