Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to reflect and celebrate the emergence of the field of School Age Care (SAC) as a profession. Several models developed inside and outside the field will be used to substantiate the progression of professionalism in SAC such as the SAC Generations Theory and Levels of Professions model. Recommendations will be included on to move the field to a higher professional status.
