Abstract
This paper addresses the topic of "The inclusion of children with special needs in school age care programs (SAC)". Part I presents the definition of inclusion and inclusive practices for SAC, and information regarding federal legislation and its impact on SAC programs. Part II consists of inclusive strategies that are successful in domains similar to SAC, and their adaptation and application to SAC. These strategies are assimilated into a handbook of best practice inclusive strategies for program staff.
