Abstract
Every child deserves an opportunity to receive a quality education regardless of ethnicity, race, religion, location, or family situation. With the mobility of individuals across nations has increased the diversity of the student population in all schools. This has created a need for multicultural education, an education that includes all children equally. The need for a multicultural education is a must in an international school system, where students are in foreign countries due to the employment of their parents. A multicultural education needs to more than a tourist approach to cultures. The ideas and beliefs of various students need to be embedded into the curriculum so that children will realize that there are similarities and differences between all people. The units in this project have integrated the students host community (the community in which they are living) along with their home community and the world as whole.
