Abstract
Faith development in early childhood is often not acknowledged by church leaders as an important ministry. Children are considered best served in the nursery, or under their parents' tutelage. While it is true that the nursery serves a meaningful purpose, and that parents are the most important teachers in a young child's life, the church has a unique responsibility to provide an intergenerational faith community, promote Biblical instruction, and fully support the family as a faith nurturing center. This project takes a closer look into the church's role in faith development specifically during a worship event, and provides a handbook that can be used by church leaders as they structure their practices.
