The purpose of this project was to identify possible improvements in the techniques employed by the New Richland Fire Department in their recruiting, retention and motivation of the members of the department. The author intended to develop ways to more efficiently manage the volunteer personnel, and in so doing have a happier department while at the same time be more productive in carrying out the tasks assigned to them.
