J. Vinton (Vint) Lawrence was recruited into the CIA during the Secret War in Laos and spent four years living among the Hmong soldiers at Long Tieng. He served as an advisor to General Vang Pao and as a conduit between the general and CIA operations in Thailand. These photo albums were compiled by Lawrence during his time with the CIA in Laos from 1962-1966. There are three albums in the series; the first documents village life and the landscape, the second military life, and the third is primarily images of Lawrence.
