Champions of Spauldings 135 Pounds, Football League
This photograph I discovered and purchased at an estate sale here in Portland back around 1976. The Albina neighborhood in 1926 was the predominate area where immigrant Germans from Russia settled here in Portland. As you can tell by reading some of the last names listed on the photograph that most were of Germen origin. If any of those athletes were not born in Russia, most assuredly some of their parents were. –Roy Conrad Derring
