Description
Toni Squires, Administrative Coordinator for the College of Health and Science, recommends The Power by Naomi Alderman.
"A very thought provoking read! The Power was awarded the 2017 Baileys Women's Prize for Fiction and was at the top of Barack Obama's 2017 reading list. Given those two endorsements, I chose it for my book club. It 'sparked' great discussion. It is a feminist science fiction novel that tackles the issue of gender equality. A quote from the book, 'It doesn't matter that she shouldn't, that she never would. What matters is that she could if she wanted.'"
