The Virtual School of Winona, MN: A Case Study

Mark S. Meyer, Concordia University, St. Paul

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to document the implementation of the Virtual School project into St. Matthew's Lutheran School in Winona, MN. The study began with the idea of what the Virtual School was and followed the implementation of this project by means of parent support, faculty support, and Board of Education support. Once the project was in place, three teachers wrote journals of their daily use of the computers provided for them on their desks. Each showed how they viewed the computer at the beginning of this project and then after teacher training was done. The results show that students' and teachers' roles change as technology became a part of their education.
