Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of parent participation in the classroom of a half day developmentally appropriate preschool program and monthly newsletters on the attitudes of parents of preschool aged children about literacy learning. This study aimed to determine if systematic written communication and time spent volunteering in the classroom could change parents' attitudes about the experiences necessary for the literacy of their preschool children.
