Concordia University and Portland Public Schools are preparing to roll out a stunning new $48.8 million facility that's designed to impel a potentially revolutionary new type of education program.

The Faubion School + Concordia University, which the two sides call "a 3 to PhD community," opens Aug. 29. It's built on the site of an old Portland Public Schools elementary facility about a block away from the Concordia campus.
